Precision Engineering | Permanent Opportunity | Career Development Available
Do you know your way around a CNC Lathe and take pride in producing high-quality precision components?
We're looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Setter / Operator to join a busy and growing engineering environment where quality, teamwork and continuous improvement are genuinely valued.
This isn't a role where you'll simply press a button and watch a machine run. We're looking for someone who can confidently set, prove out and optimise CNC lathes, troubleshoot issues, and play a key part in keeping production running smoothly and efficiently.
What You'll Be Doing
Setting and preparing CNC lathes in line with engineering drawings, route cards and production requirements.
Installing and setting tooling, chucks, collets and fixtures.
Proving out programs and making authorised adjustments to achieve first-off approval.
Adjusting tooling offsets and maintaining process control throughout production.
Supporting operators and providing technical guidance where required.
Carrying out in-process inspection checks using precision measuring equipment.
Monitoring machine performance and component quality.
Replacing worn tooling and identifying issues before they become costly problems.
Maintaining high housekeeping standards and ensuring work areas remain safe and organised.
Working closely with Inspection, Milling, Welding and Maintenance teams.
Contributing ideas for continuous improvement and process optimisation.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience setting and operating CNC Lathes within a precision engineering environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong understanding of tooling, offsets and machine setup procedures.
Experience using precision measuring equipment.
A proactive approach to quality, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Someone who takes ownership of their work and enjoys being part of a skilled engineering team.
What's In It For You?
Stable, long-term opportunity within a well-established engineering business.
Opportunity to work on precision manufactured components.
Supportive team environment with experienced engineers around you.
Ongoing training and development opportunities.
A role where your skills and experience genuinely make a difference.
If you're the type of engineer who enjoys getting machines running right first time, takes pride in producing quality work, and wants to be part of a team that values craftsmanship and continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.
