Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Fencer/Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with fencing projects and supporting various construction tasks on-site. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude, a willingness to learn, and basic skills in construction-related trades. This paid position offers valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry and opportunities for skill development.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the installation of fencing, including measuring, marking, and setting out work areas
- Handling and operating hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Supporting team members with general labouring duties such as lifting, moving materials, and site preparation
- Assisting with carpentry, masonry, roofing, or other construction tasks as required
- Ensuring work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe at all times
- Following health and safety guidelines to minimise risks on-site
- Supporting specialised trades such as plumbing, electrical work, or fabrication when needed
Skills
- Basic knowledge of different types of fencing is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong physical fitness for manual labour tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training as required
