We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Casual Swimming Teacher to join our growing team on an ad hoc basis across our three Northamptonshire sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated swim teacher looking for flexible work within a friendly and supportive swim school environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching swimmers aged 4+ of varying abilities, delivering engaging lessons that follow the Swim England framework while promoting water confidence, technique, and safety.
You will play an important role in creating positive learning experiences for swimmers and maintaining the high standards associated with Slide Into Swimming.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, safe, and effective swimming lessons tailored to individual abilities and age groups
- Teach swimmers ranging from beginners through to advanced levels
- Promote water safety, confidence-building, and correct swimming technique
- Plan and organise lesson programmes in line with the Swim England framework
- Monitor swimmer progress and provide constructive feedback and encouragement
- Ensure all poolside safety procedures and policies are followed at all times
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional teaching environment
- Manage and care for swimming equipment appropriately
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding swimmer progress or any concerns
- Stay up to date with current teaching methods, Swim England guidance, and water safety standards
- Represent Slide Into Swimming professionally across all sites
Essential Requirements
Applicants must hold:
- ASA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming
- Current Swim England Membership
- Enhanced DBS Certificate
- RLSS Level 3 Award in Pool LifeguardingORNational Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) awarded by RLSS UK
Desired Skills & Experience
- Previous swim teaching experience is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire swimmers of all ages and abilities
- Flexible and reliable with availability for weekend work when required
- A genuine passion for swimming, water safety education, and child development
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- First Aid qualification is advantageous but not essential — training can be provided for the right candidate
