Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-time Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a flair for creating delicious, high-quality dishes. This role offers flexible hours suitable for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills while balancing other commitments. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals in a professional kitchen environment, ensuring all food safety standards are met. Previous experience in a restaurant or catering setting is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and customer preferences
- Assist with meal preparation, ensuring ingredients are fresh and properly stored
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety regulations
- Follow hygiene standards diligently to ensure the safety of all food served
- Support the team during busy service times by serving food and attending to customer needs
- Assist in stock control and inventory management for kitchen supplies
- Contribute to menu planning and suggest new ideas to enhance our offerings
Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a kitchen environment is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or catering setting is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Enthusiasm for culinary arts and willingness to learn new techniques
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings and weekends as required
