The Opportunity
We are supporting a scaling, founder-led SaaS business in the search for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The company is self-funded and operating at a Series A-equivalent stage, with strong product-market traction, a growing recurring revenue base, and a clear opportunity to scale. Having successfully established itself through a primarily B2C-led motion, the business is now entering its next phase of growth, focused on expanding into a more structured B2B and enterprise SaaS model.
This is a pivotal executive leadership appointment, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the leadership team to build a world-class financial function, strengthen commercial decision-making, and create the foundations required for sustainable, scalable growth.
The Role
As Chief Financial Officer, you will:
- Define and execute the company’s financial strategy to support ambitious SaaS growth plans
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, providing commercial insight and financial leadership across the business
- Build and scale the finance function from a founder-led environment into a robust, data-driven, enterprise-ready operation
- Own financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance management
- Develop financial models and insights to support strategic decisions, investment priorities, and growth initiatives
- Establish scalable finance processes, systems, controls, and reporting infrastructure
- Own SaaS financial metrics and business performance analysis, including ARR, MRR, gross margin, CAC, LTV, churn, retention, and expansion revenue
- Partner closely with Commercial, Product, and Operations teams to optimise growth, profitability, and customer economics
- Lead fundraising readiness, investor reporting, and board-level financial communication as the business scales
- Drive financial discipline across the organisation through clear KPIs, dashboards, and operating rhythms
- Support organisational scaling, including hiring plans, resource allocation, and strategic investments
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team capable of supporting the next stage of company growth
About You
We’re looking for a commercially minded finance leader who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, bringing rigour, insight, and operational maturity to a high-growth SaaS environment.
You are likely to have:
- 8+ years’ experience in finance leadership roles, including experience operating at senior executive level
- A track record of scaling finance functions within SaaS, subscription, technology, or recurring revenue businesses
- Experience supporting a company through significant growth, transformation, fundraising, or scaling phases
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models and key metrics, including ARR, MRR, retention, churn, gross margin, CAC, and LTV
- Experience building financial infrastructure, forecasting models, reporting frameworks, and operational controls
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business decisions
- Experience partnering closely with founders, CEOs, investors, and boards
- The ability to balance strategic leadership with a hands-on approach in a scaling environment
- A track record of building and developing high-performing finance teams
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across the organisation
Pay: £120,000.00-£150,000.00 per year
