Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Mobile Dog Groomer to join The Hound Machine grooming team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to a variety of dog breeds, ensuring each pet’s comfort and safety throughout the process. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a friendly environment where animal welfare and customer satisfaction are our top priorities. The Mobile Dog Groomer will play a vital part in maintaining our reputation for exceptional pet grooming standards. This role is initially offered on a part time (2-3 days per week) self employed basis.
Areas covered: Dartford , Crayford, Bexley and surrounding areas
Responsibilities
- Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of all sizes and breeds using appropriate grooming techniques and equipment
- Trimming, clipping, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
- Inspecting each dog for skin conditions, parasites, or abnormalities and flagging concerns to pet owners where necessary
- Ensuring the safety and comfort of animals during grooming procedures
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of grooming tools, and mobile work areas
- Providing excellent customer service by advising pet owners on grooming needs and aftercare instructions
- Handling heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting larger dogs onto grooming tables or into bathing tubs
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times during grooming sessions
Experience
- Proven experience in dog grooming
- Strong understanding of different dog breeds and their specific grooming requirements
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to handle animals gently yet confidently, ensuring a stress-free experience for each pet
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Excellent time keeping and ability to work independently.
- Candidates must be over the age of 25 and have a full clean manual driving licence and be comfortable driving a medium wheel based van.
