Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance within their homes (This is a weekday role, no weekends. You must have availability from monday-friday.). The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care, including those with specific needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, and hospice care. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities by delivering personalised care and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Help with mobility and physical assistance, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Monitor and document client progress and any changes in behaviour or health status.
- Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure client safety and comfort.
- Support clients with Alzheimer’s or dementia through tailored activities that promote engagement.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of senior care practices, including first aid and caregiving techniques.
- Ability to administer medication accurately and responsibly.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients.
- Experience in childcare may be beneficial for those working with younger clients or families.
