Job Overview
We are looking for a passionate and dependable freelance / self-employed person to join the team as a Wellbeing Practitioner at You Mental CIC.
You will work closely with the other Wellbeing Practitioners and the Operations Manager to support the facilitation and growth of the Wellbeing Hub in Walnut Tree.
Within this role, you will be required to listen to and support young people to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to positively improve their mental health and wellbeing. The role will take a holistic approach that helps increase a young person's overall wellbeing and aspirations to live a healthier and happier life.
We require someone who is available to work on Tuesdays from 4-6:30pm for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the facilitation of the Wellbeing Hub/s.
- Help with the service as required e.g. setting up tables and chairs at the beginning of the session, providing refreshments, and packing away after.
- Welcome young people to the Wellbeing Hub/s ensuring they feel safe and comfortable. Provide emotional support and encouragement to the young people who access the Wellbeing Hub/s.
- Promote good mental health and wellbeing for individuals by actively listening to young people who require someone to talk to.
- Design, develop and deliver engaging holistic wellbeing activities. Encourage access to other relevant internal and external services, if needed.
- Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
- Complete administrative tasks in relation to the Wellbeing Hub/s. Ensure confidentiality and boundaries within the Wellbeing Hub/s.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
Person Specification
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport and relationships with a variety of young people.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Great active listening skills.
- An understanding of mental health and wellbeing.
- To be non-judgemental
- Ability to work using your own initiative.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work in potentially stressful situations
- Ability to use a tablet, including proficiency in the use of word processing and data entry tools.
