Build something great with Allett
Do you enjoy building, fixing or improving things?
We're looking for practical, mechanically minded people who take pride in producing quality work. You may already have assembly experience, or perhaps you've developed your skills through engineering, maintenance, automotive work, machinery operation, military service, or even serious DIY projects and hobbies.
At Allett, we manufacture premium British lawnmowers used by passionate gardeners and some of the world's most prestigious sports grounds. As part of our Assembly team, you'll help build high-quality machines that we're proud to put our name on.
If you're comfortable using tools, enjoy solving problems and want to learn new skills in a supportive manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll do
- Assemble mechanical lawnmowers and sub-assemblies using hand tools, power tools and documented build procedures
- Follow assembly instructions and quality standards to ensure every machine is built correctly
- Inspect completed assemblies and identify any quality concerns
- Support the team in achieving production and quality targets
- Assist with packaging and logistics activities when required
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and suggest ways to improve processes
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment using 5S principles
What we're looking for
Essential
- Practical mechanical aptitude and an interest in how things work
- Confidence using hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
- Ability to follow instructions and work accurately to defined standards
- Positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience in assembly, manufacturing or production environments
- Mechanical, engineering, automotive, agricultural or maintenance experience
- Experience working to production or quality targets
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S or Six Sigma principles would be an advantage but not essential
Is this role right for you?
This role will suit someone who enjoys hands-on practical work, building mechanical products precisely, using tools and solving problems.
Whether you've gained your skills through previous employment, a trade, military service, technical hobbies or personal projects, we're interested in people with the right attitude and aptitude.
