Overview
The Haulage Transport Coordinator is responsible for overseeing primarily sub-contractor operations and the movement of goods, ensuring all transportation projects are completed efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
· Build, manage and grow a reliable network of quality UK haulage subcontractors
· Source additional haulage capacity quickly and effectively where necessary
· Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests, to ensure accuracy and compliance
· Monitor and track the status of ongoing shipments to provide real-time updates and anticipate potential delays
· Ensure all transportation activities adhere to safety standards and transport regulations
· Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving any shipment issues, including damages, losses or customer complaints
· Negotiate competitive rates, ensure the profitability of jobs, while maintaining strong supplier relationships
· Allocate and coordinate subcontract work to meet customer requirements
· Track live jobs and proactively resolve operational issues
· Identify improvements to increase margin, efficiency and service
· Support new opportunities’ including system information input, collections, deliveries and process new business forms
· Work with the wider team to ensure all haulage jobs are delivered efficiently and professionally.
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience within haulage, transport, logistics or subcontract coordination
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and confident negotiation skills
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data for optimisation opportunities
- Commercial mindset and results driven attitude, able to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment
- Organised approach to managing multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines
- Strong UK geographical knowledge and administrative skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office and transport systems
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team whilst demonstrating independence when required
- Positive, ambitious and willing to go the extra mile.

Pay: £28,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
