Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, as well as decorating interiors and exteriors of buildings. This role requires attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Experience in construction painting and a valid driving licence are desirable.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers to ensure a smooth finish.
- Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
- Decorate interiors and exteriors of residential, commercial, or industrial buildings according to specifications.
- Protect surrounding areas with masking tape or coverings during application.
- Maintain a clean workspace by clearing debris and cleaning tools after each job.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure project requirements are met.
- Drive between different sites as required, ensuring timely completion of projects.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is preferred.
- Valid driving licence and own transport is advantageous for travelling between sites.
- Strong communication skills in English to understand instructions and liaise with clients.
- Excellent colour perception and an eye for detail to achieve high-quality finishes.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
Pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
