Overview
We are seeking an experienced cook to provide flexible cover for holidays and absence for our client in Church Stretton. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, ensuring food safety standards are met, and cooking traditional food. This position is ideal for someone with a keen interest in cooking and hospitality, eager to gain valuable experience in a professional setting. Our client is an established and popular community centre and day centre supporting residents and the local community. They have two restaurants/cafes on site.
Responsibilities
- Covering holiday and absence (holiday dates to be provided in advance)
- Food preparation and cooking tasks
- Meal assembly and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure hygiene and safety compliance
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a kitchen environment is essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene is essential
- Experience working in a catering setting is desirable
