Job Purpose To provide reliable driving and transportation support for the company while also carrying out painting and decorating works to a high professional standard. The role requires flexibility, good time management, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Driving Duties Safely drive company vehicles to transport staff, tools, equipment, and materials to and from sites. Collect and deliver materials, supplies, and equipment as required. Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance requirements. Ensure company vehicles are kept clean, roadworthy, and presentable at all times. Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely arrival at sites and appointments. Load and unload materials safely and securely. Maintain accurate delivery and collection records where required. Comply with all road traffic laws and company driving policies. Painting and Decorating Duties Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling, scraping, and priming. Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, woodwork, doors, fences, and other surfaces. Carry out internal and external painting and decorating works. Protect surrounding areas, furniture, fixtures, flooring, and fittings before commencing work. Repair minor defects such as cracks, holes, dents, and surface imperfections. Ensure all painting works are completed to a high-quality finish. Clean tools and equipment after use and store them safely. Assist with colour matching and material selection when required. Follow manufacturer specifications and company quality standards. General Duties Assist with site setup and clearance. Load, unload, and move materials and equipment as required. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Follow all company health and safety procedures. Wear appropriate PPE at all times. Report any site hazards, accidents, or incidents immediately. Assist with other property maintenance tasks when required. Work cooperatively with colleagues, clients, and contractors. Represent the company professionally at all times. Skills and Experience Required Full UK Driving Licence. Previous experience in painting and decorating. Good knowledge of painting materials, tools, and preparation techniques. Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment safely. Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy. Good attention to detail and quality workmanship. Health and Safety Responsibilities Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation. Use equipment and materials safely and correctly. Wear appropriate PPE including safety footwear, gloves, eye protection, and high-visibility clothing where required. Report unsafe conditions immediately. Ensure vehicles and equipment are operated safely and responsibly. Working Hours Hours will be determined by the needs of the business and site requirements. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required. Performance Expectations Arrive on time and prepared for work. Complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
