Overview
We are looking for a multi drop van driver to work within our busy family run timber yard.
We are looking for someone that can be flexible to either be out doing multiple drops on the transit van or picking within the warehouse.
Good knowledge of the local Plymouth/Cornwall area would be an advantage.
Duties
- Multi Drops in our 3.5T flat bed van.
- Pick goods out for the next days deliveries.
- Organise and store inventory in designated areas of the warehouse.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as required.
- Prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring that all items are correctly packed and labelled.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inventory levels and any issues that arise.
- Perform heavy lifting as needed, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 25kg) consistently throughout the shift.
- Valid driving licence is a must.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team setting.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes is beneficial.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by the business needs.
Working hours 8.30 - 17.30 - 5 days a week including Saturdays.
