The Role
As a Bank Residential Childcare Worker, you will play an important role in supporting young people both during the day and overnight, helping to create a safe, nurturing and supportive home environment.
Day Shift Responsibilities
- Supporting young people with daily routines and activities
- Building positive and trusting relationships
- Encouraging education, independence and personal development
- Supporting appointments, activities and community engagement
- Managing behaviours in a trauma-informed and therapeutic way
- Completing daily records and reports
- Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing and positive outcomes
Waking Night Responsibilities
- Providing emotional support and reassurance during the night
- Monitoring the safety and wellbeing of young people
- Responding calmly and professionally to incidents overnight
- Completing night logs, records and welfare checks
- Undertaking light housekeeping duties to support the day team
- Maintaining a calm and safe environment throughout the night

Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- Experience working with children or young people (residential experience desirable)
- Knowledge of safeguarding practices
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle (or to local transport links)
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to work days, nights and weekends on a flexible basis
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness for one to be completed)
Training & Development
Upon successful completion of the interview process, all successful candidates will be required to attend our face-to-face in-house training programme, focused on trauma-informed care and therapeutic approaches to supporting children and young people.
