Interim Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home (Maternity Cover)

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to provide maternity cover for a 5-bed children’s home in the Worthing area. The home supports children and young people aged 8–18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

About You
You will be a confident and resilient leader with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, able to remain calm and effective in challenging situations. Most importantly, you will be dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for children and young people.
The successful candidate will:
- Have strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards
- Hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
- Have at least 2 years’ experience in a management role within a children’s residential setting
- Demonstrate a track record of achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted outcomes
- Be an inspiring and supportive leader
- Show integrity, professionalism, and excellent safeguarding practice
- Be passionate about delivering high-quality, child-focused care
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the home
- Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Lead, motivate, and develop the team to achieve clear goals and positive outcomes
- Complete auditing, monitoring, and budget management responsibilities
- Produce and maintain Regulation 45 reports
- Maintain effective safeguarding practices and promote the welfare of children
- Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, the team and external professionals
- Promote equality, inclusion, children’s rights, and the voice of the child in all areas of practice
- Create a positive working environment that encourages development, accountability, and good practice
- Participate in the on-call rota on a pro rata basis
- Maintain Ofsted registration requirements
