We are partnering with a well-established and highly respected organisation to recruit an experienced Payroll Lead & HR Support professional. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business where you’ll play a key role in ensuring payroll excellence while supporting core HR operations.
This is a varied and hands-on role responsible for the end-to-end management of payroll alongside supporting essential HR activities. You’ll be a trusted point of contact for employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless payroll and employee experience.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management
- Manage the full monthly payroll cycle from start to finish
- Process salary payments, overtime, bonuses, and deductions accurately
- Handle starters, leavers, salary changes, and statutory payments
- Reconcile payroll data and resolve complex discrepancies
- Submit pensions and ensure all deductions are correct
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure full compliance with UK legislation (PAYE, NI, pensions, statutory payments)
- Submit RTI reports to HMRC accurately and on time
- Produce year-end documentation (P45s, P60s, P11Ds)
- Maintain payroll data in line with GDPR and best practice
Employee Support
- Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries
- Provide clear explanations of payslips, tax codes, and deductions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records
HR Support
- Assist with onboarding and new starter processes
- Support inductions and HR administration
- Help coordinate performance review processes
- Contribute to employee engagement and retention initiatives
Collaboration
- Work closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operations
- Support budgeting and forecasting of payroll costs
- Liaise with pension providers and benefits administrators
Desirable:
- Experience supporting HR processes
- Exposure to fast-paced or project-based environments
