Withington Golf Club is looking for an experienced bar person to join their small, friendly team over the rest of the summer.
Set within the stunning Mersey Valley, with lush tree-lined fairways and responsive greens, Withington Golf Club is widely regarded as one the finest 18-hole parkland golf courses in the Manchester and Cheshire area. It is also a friendly club enjoyed by over 500 members numerous golf societies, visitors, and those attending private functions.
Job Description
You will be required work on the bar serving drinks, including teas and coffees, to our members and guests during our normal opening hours and events. You will also be required to assist our catering team with room setups ahead of events where required and open and close the bar when needed.
You will provide an exceptional of customer service to everyone attending the club.
The role will be a fixed term contract until the end of September 2026, averaging 20 hours a week plus overtime.
***Shifts will be on a weekly rolling basis and you must be fully available over the next 3 months including evenings and weekends.***
Requirements
- The position requires a flexible approach to working hours and will involve day time and evening shifts both midweek and weekends on a rota basis.
- You will be well presented, outgoing and friendly.
- Experience of working in a bar or hospitality setting
- Experiencing of opening and closing down a bar
- You will be able to work as part of a team as well as alone.
- You will have an eye for detail and be proactive in your approach
Desirable
- Barista experience
- First Aid Certificate
- Experience of a golf/sports club environment
- A basic understanding of golf
Duties
- Serving Drinks, glass collecting and general bar duties.
- Preparing teas and coffees using a barista machine
- Assisting where required with catering (i.e. running/clearing plates and pot-washing)
- Setting up rooms and tables for events
- Ensuring members and guests have a positive experience of the club at all times
- Promoting internal and external events to members and guests
- Cleaning
- Assisting with general enquires
- Opening and closing
Pay: £12.71 per hour
