As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a highly organised and proactive Senior Finance Administrator to strengthen our finance function and help develop robust processes that will support the next stage of our expansion.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working within a small, collaborative business where they can make a real difference.
Alongside managing day-to-day financial administration, you will play an important role in improving financial systems, streamlining processes and supporting the development of scalable procedures for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales and purchase ledger management
- Customer invoicing and query resolution
- Budget monitoring and reporting
- VAT returns and associated compliance
- Purchase order administration
- Payroll administration
- Employee expenses processing
- Order management
- Fixed asset register management
- Stock control support
- Shipping administration
- Preparation of accruals and prepayments
- Journal processing
- Supporting month-end and year-end financial activities
- Assisting with continuous improvement of financial procedures and controls
About You
You will be an organised and self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and a passion for improving financial processes. You will enjoy working independently while collaborating closely with the wider team and will be comfortable taking ownership of your responsibilities.
You will be confident identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and implementing practical solutions that help the business grow.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts administration role
- AAT Level 2 or above (or equivalent practical experience)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Experience of bookkeeping, financial administration or cost management
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
Desirable:
- Experience supporting payroll
- Experience using accounting software within an SME environment
- Experience of process improvement or implementing new financial procedures
