Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated individual to lead and manage an operational cell to ensure the safe, high‑quality, and on‑time delivery of all products. Drive a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and team performance while ensuring all operational and health & safety procedures are consistently followed.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities:
- Own the health and safety of all individuals in your area, ensuring processes, risk assessments, and compliance with relevant legislation (e.g., PUWER, LOLER).
- Ensure all team members follow H&S standards and operational procedures at all times.
- Deliver cell performance targets, including on‑time delivery and product quality.
- Build strong working relationships with managers and leaders across the business to support operational success.
- Continuously improve processes to enhance safety, quality, lead times, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure all staff meet competency requirements and receive appropriate training.
- Lead daily team meetings, set work schedules, and manage workflow.
- Work closely with Purchasing to maintain material availability.
- Manage performance, conduct, and attendance in line with company policies.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Engineering or manufacturing background
- Experience managing teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Effective time management and prioritisation
- Ability to handle pressure and conflicting demands
- Structured problem‑solving skills (e.g., 8D)
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
Desirable:
- Process excellence qualification (Green Belt / Black Belt)
- Rail or HVAC sector experience
- Full UK driving licence

Pay: Up to £43,000.00 per year
