Job Summary
We are an expanding family ran business seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of motor vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles using schematics and technical manuals to identify faults
- Perform repairs and maintenance on motor vehicles, including engine work, brake systems, suspension, and electrical components
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to carry out assembly, repairs, and modifications
- Carry out equipment repair and maintenance tasks to ensure operational efficiency
- Assist with vehicle assembly or disassembly as required for repair or refurbishment projects
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs needed and estimated completion times
- Lift heavy components safely during maintenance procedures while adhering to health and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and vehicle assembly processes
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and equipment repair techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or installations
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City & Guilds in Vehicle Maintenance or Automotive Engineering are desirable but not essential
