Dental Receptionist / Patient Care Coordinator
Sunlight Dental Practice, Port Sunlight
Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week | May include some Saturdays
At Sunlight Dental Practice, we believe that exceptional dentistry begins long before a patient sits in the dental chair.
Every phone call, every greeting, every interaction matters.
We are looking for a warm, professional and highly organised individual to join our team as a Dental Receptionist / Patient Care Coordinator. This is far more than a traditional reception role. We are seeking someone who takes genuine pride in creating outstanding patient experiences and who understands that exceptional customer service is found in the smallest details.
If you are the type of person who naturally remembers names, notices when someone is feeling anxious, anticipates what people need before they ask and enjoys making others feel genuinely welcome, we would love to hear from you.

We provide a comprehensive range of treatments including:

Alongside caring for our local patients, we receive referrals from approximately 250 dental practices across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales for complex and specialist treatment.
We are incredibly proud of the reputation we have built for clinical excellence, but equally proud of the compassionate and supportive environment we have created for both our patients and our team.
Our ethos is simple:
We treat people as we would wish to be treated ourselves – with kindness, empathy, respect and compassion.
The Role
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in shaping their experience of our practice.
You will be responsible for creating a calm, welcoming and professional environment whilst ensuring that the patient journey runs smoothly from initial enquiry through to completion of treatment.
This role would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, takes ownership of their work and genuinely cares about delivering an exceptional experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Welcoming patients and visitors to the practice
- Managing incoming telephone calls and patient enquiries
- Scheduling appointments and coordinating diaries
- Supporting specialist referral administration
- Liaising with clinicians and nursing teams
- Managing patient records and correspondence
- Processing payments and financial transactions
- Helping ensure every patient receives outstanding care and service throughout their journey
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will:
- Have recent reception or front-of-house experience within a professional environment
- Ideally have previous dental reception experience (although this is not essential for the right candidate)
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have exceptional attention to detail
- Be highly organised and able to prioritise effectively
- Be confident using computer systems and learning new software
- Be proactive and solution-focused
- Enjoy working as part of a collaborative team
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys looking after people.
Someone who understands that hospitality and healthcare have more in common than many people realise.
Someone who appreciates that offering a reassuring smile, remembering a patient's name or taking a few extra moments to help someone who is nervous can make all the difference.
What We Offer
- Full induction and training programme
- Ongoing support from an experienced and friendly team who genuinely care about our practice and each other.
- Opportunity to work within a highly respected specialist referral practice
- Professional, supportive and positive working environment
- Opportunities for personal development and progression
You will initially shadow our experienced reception team to ensure your transition into the role is as smooth and successful as possible.
Additional Information
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week across five days and may include some Saturdays.
There may occasionally be a requirement to provide reception cover at our sister practice in Heswall, therefore applicants must be willing and able to travel between sites when required.

If you believe that exceptional customer service is about making people feel genuinely cared for, and you would like to be part of a team that shares those values, we would love to hear from you.
