Pay: From £540 per week
Job Summary
**This is a self employed position only**. We will pay you the rate advertised in full as a salary. The rate of £540 is a starting area for the first 12 weeks with hours around 40-45. Increasing to £600 after this period.
We are opening our new restaurant and we are looking for a chef to come on board to help create menus, ideas and work alongside us to promote our new venue.
You will be in charge of the kitchen and the kitchen staff therefore I would need to see CV’s, previous employment references and to have a positive attitude within.
Key Points before applying -
Communicationis key from stock levels, ordering, being part of the team and dealing with customers so we need a confident chef who will also be positive and welcoming to the rest of the kitchen and front of house staff.
To be able to drive and have a vehicle due to the running of the kitchen and team.
Not to be shy with doing the kitchen cleaning alongside junior members or on quiter periods yourself. No one is above anyone including myself in this aspect.
We believe in work to life balance so the kitchen rota would be rotated for fairness to the team therefore be prepared for a mix of morning and mid-evening shift patterns as-well as having weekends off. You will be in control of this after the 12 weeks period.
We encourage having a good time while in the workplace too and work along side the staff in all areas of the venue.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations and high-quality food service
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet established standards of quality and consistency
- Manage food production processes, including planning menus, portion control, and inventory management
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and hygiene standards within the kitchen environment
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Develop innovative dishes that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen or restaurant setting
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations relevant to hospitality establishments
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Strong understanding of food production processes and restaurant operations
- Previous experience in hospitality or catering environments is compulsory
- A passion for innovation in cuisine coupled with excellent communication skills
