Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile and skilled professional to join our team as a shopfitting carpenter. This role involves a wide range of hands-on tasks across various construction and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hand and power tools, and the ability to perform physically demanding work. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain various hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform welding tasks as required, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Conduct masonry work including bricklaying, blockwork, and related activities.
- Assist with carpentry tasks such as framing, fitting, and finishing.
- Carry out roofing repairs or installations following safety protocols.
- Handle heavy lifting safely during material movement or installation processes.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic repairs.
- Support commercial driving duties when necessary, including transporting materials or equipment between sites.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Follow all health and safety regulations diligently during all tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction or maintenance roles involving welding, carpentry, masonry, roofing, or related trades.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical systems is essential.
- Experience with heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks is preferred.
- Previous work involving commercial driving is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of safety procedures relevant to construction sites is required.
