Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and dedicated Gujarati Speaking Domiciliary Care Worker to support clients living in the Barnet and Enfield areas.
This role is ideal for someone who has previous care experience, is flexible with timings, and has a genuine passion for supporting people to live safely and independently in their own homes. The successful candidate must be able to communicate confidently in Gujarati, as this is essential for supporting the client’s needs and ensuring clear communication.
This position currently involves a morning care visit, usually between 7:00am and 8:00am, for approximately 1 hour. Additional flexible hours may become available depending on the needs of the service.
Duties
The role will include:
- Supporting clients with personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
- Assisting with morning routines, including washing, dressing and continence support where required
- Supporting with mobility and safe movement around the home
- Assisting with nutrition, hydration and medication prompts where required
- Providing emotional support, reassurance and companionship
- Communicating clearly with the client, family members and office team
- Reporting any changes in the client’s condition or wellbeing promptly
- Maintaining accurate care records after each visit
- Following care plans and ensuring the client’s choices, privacy and dignity are respected at all times
- Working in line with infection control, safeguarding and health and safety procedures
Experience and Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Be able to speak Gujarati fluently
- Have previous experience in domiciliary care, home care, residential care or a similar health and social care setting
- Be reliable, punctual and flexible with working hours
- Be compassionate, patient and respectful
- Have good communication skills
- Be confident working independently in a client’s home
- Be able to follow care plans and complete care notes accurately
- Have a professional and caring approach
Previous care experience is preferred, and the hourly rate can go up to £18.00 per hour for an experienced carer.
