The Adil group is one of the largest family owned quick service restaurant operators in the UK. In addition, we own and operate fully serviced Boutique hotels as well as a commercial and residential property portfolio. Our purpose-built head office is based in Wembley, London.
Due to the Group’s expansions several Accounts Assistants roles have emerged. We are currently looking to recruit Accounts Assistants at varied levels. You will be responsible for the Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Nominal Ledger and Cash Book transactions for several trading assets.
Key Responsibilities:
· Purchase Ledger-Matching Invoices to delivery notes, uploading EDI invoices into SAGE 200 Professional. Coding, posting and filing overhead invoices. Getting invoices approved for payment, preparing and making payments, posting payments and reconciling aged creditors monthly. Handling suppliers’ queries and responding promptly. Reconciling input VAT monthly.
· Sales Ledger-Uploading Sales and Cash transactions into SAGE 200 Professional, raising queries on shortages promptly, ensuring home delivery sales and commission deductions are reconciled to receipts, ensuring petty cash claims are properly accounted for weekly. Raising banking and cash shortages queries and reporting promptly. Matching and allocating sales to receipts and reconciling aged debtors monthly. Reconciling output VAT monthly.
· Nominal Ledger-Liaising and agreeing with Area Managers on month end journals. Posting month end journals. Reconciling Prepayment, Accrual, Wages Control, Paye Control, VAT Input Control and Vat Output Control monthly. Posting Audit Journals.
· Cash Book-Posting all receipts, payments and intercompany transfers. Ensuring all intercompany balances are mirrored. Reconciling all bank current and loan accounts monthly.
· Month End-Adhering to month end routines and ensuring all tasks are completed in the correct order and agreed timelines. Reviewing expenses spent with Area Managers before producing final Trial balance.
· Audit Deliverables-Updating audit deliverables quarterly.
· Ad Hoc-Updating various tracker sheets routinely. Taking ownership of other adhoc task as and when they come up.
Essential requirements are:
· ACCA/CIMA/AAT-part qualified, planning to complete course in 3-4 years or recently graduated in Finance/Accounting/Business/Economics
· 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume retail/catering environment
· Minimum requirement-Full exposure and experience in Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Nominal Ledger and Bank Reconciliation
· Preferably have experience in Sage, SAP or Navision
· Intermediate levels in Excel and MS Products
· Strong numeracy skills with good analytical mind
· Self-starter with good organisational skills being able to multitask, plan, prioritise and meet tight deadlines
· Ability to build strong business and human relationship at all levels and team player
· Excellent in communicating at all levels
· Commercial acumen in retail would be an advantage
