We are recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join our Children's Home team in Crawley. You will have experience in Ofsted registered home providing support to the client base. You must be able to work long shifts, sleep ins and alternate weekends.
As a Team Leader you will be responsible for the day to day running of the service by:
- Carrying out risk assessments
- Monitoring and reviewing care plans
- Supervising care workers
- Maintaining service standards
- Attending Service User meeting
- Processing incident and accident reports
- Overseeing Keywork
- Unit Administration inc. finance
Main duties and responsibilities include:
Ensure all policies & procedures are followed according to Nelbro Protocols:
- Missing (including proper use of forms and trackers & auditing of forms)
- Ensuring MARS protocol is completed at all times
- Incident Reports & trackers
Communication:
- Ensure all concerns for YP and ongoing within the home are reported promptly to the Head of Operations
- Reporting maintenance issues are reported promptly
- Regular progress updates are shared with the SW
- All appointments are recorded and shared
Weekly Reports:
- Ownership of weekly reports ensuring they are completed to a satisfactory standard
- Ensuring appropriate key work is delegated for staff to complete on non-working days
Finance:
- Unit expense spread sheet to be kept up to date & maintained
Inventory of House Hold Item:
- Inventory of cleaning products
- Inventory of household products
- Making requests for unit items as and when needed
Cleaning:
- Ensuring upkeep of the home and allocating cleaning duties where appropriate
- Ensuring vacant rooms are maintained
Meetings:
- Attending all meetings where possible even outside of shift hours via phone or teams.
- Organising and overseeing new placement arrivals:
- Setting Up rooms
- Doing new placement inductions
- Setting up new folders
- Placement Agreement Management:
- Ensure rules are being following
- Ensure rules breaches are reported according
- Ensure Warning system is followed and implemented appropriately.
Health & Safety:
- Fire checks (weekly)
- Fire Drills (min 2 per year)
- Monthly work place inspections
File Audits:
- Monthly audits of YP Files – reporting missing documents to head office.
Care plans:
- Updating care plans on monthly intervals (training will be given)
Updating Risk Assessments
- Updating RA with new risk events
Room Checks:
- Ensure regular room checks are completed and documents
Staff induction:
- Supporting with new start inductions
Neighbourhood Relations:
- Speak to speak weekly with neighbour's basis for weekly updates.
Referrals to services:
COVID:
- Ensuring compliance Nelbro Covid & Government protocol.
Out of hours support as needed.
The right candidate will have:
- An NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
- Experience working with children
- Experience working in a regulated setting
- A positive attitude towards people with mental health problems or physical, mental and learning disabilities.
- A commitment to promoting choice, personalised support and maintaining the rights of people with disabilities.
- Ability to maintain clear and accurate written and electronic records and follow statutory reporting procedures.
- IT literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to communicate, with excellent spoken and written English.
- Ability to organise and demonstrate excellent time-keeping.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with customers, their families, care staff and other health and social care professionals.
- Ability to train and develop staff members in improving performance and ensuring compliance.
- Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think clearly when under pressure. Comfortable using own initiative to solve problems.
- Must be able to do 3 shifts per week including sleeps.
