We're looking for a high-energy Territory Manager to spearhead new business growth across a defined field-based territory. This is a pure hunting role — you'll be targeting small to medium builders and contractors, winning new accounts, and turning those first orders into long-term, repeat business relationships.
You'll work closely with our local branch network — benefiting from warm leads, market intelligence, and pricing support — while you're out on the road building your own pipeline and making things happen.
What You'll Be Doing
Prospecting & Lead Generation
- Identify and target small to medium builders and contractors across your territory
- Build and maintain a strong, healthy pipeline of new opportunities
Customer Engagement
- Conduct a minimum of 15 face-to-face visits per week, supported by 30 follow-up calls
- Present our product and service offering compellingly — focusing on speed, reliability, and value
- Secure trial orders and manage early-stage customer onboarding
Account Development
- Convert trial orders into repeat spending accounts within 60–90 days
- Build relationships with key decision-makers — owners, project managers, and foremen
- Support customers on-site to ensure product suitability and availability
Reporting & Administration
- Keep CRM records accurate and up to date — prospects, meetings, pipeline
- Report weekly on activity, pipeline health, and conversion rates
- Feed competitor intelligence and local market insights back to the wider sales team
What We're Looking For
- Proven field sales experience, ideally in builders' merchant, construction supplies, or a related B2B environment
- A true "hunter" — self-motivated, target-driven, and hungry for new business wins
- Confident communicator who can build rapport quickly with small business owners and tradespeople
- Highly organised — able to plan your territory effectively and manage a busy diary
- Comfortable with CRM systems, mobile apps, and digital tools
- Good numerical ability and strong commercial awareness
- Full UK driving licence — essential
