As our UK operation grows, we're looking for dependable drivers to grow with us.
The role
We're recruiting a safety-focused Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV Driver to join our transport team. You'll deliver and collect pallets across the UK, operating an articulated vehicle to the highest standards of safety, compliance and customer service. This is a stable, permanent role with consistent work and a supportive team behind you.
Key responsibilities
- Safe and efficient operation of an articulated (C+E) vehicle on trunk, collection and delivery work
- Loading, unloading and correctly securing pallet loads (load restraint)
- Completing daily walkaround checks and reporting any defects promptly, in line with DVSA requirements
- Accurate completion of delivery paperwork, PODs and digital tachograph records
- Working within GB drivers' hours rules and the Working Time (Road Transport) Regulations
- Manual handling of pallets where required
- Keeping your vehicle clean, roadworthy and presentable
- Representing CJ Sheeran / PH Pallets professionally with customers and suppliers
What you'll need (essential)
- Full UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification (current Driver Qualification Card)
- Valid digital tachograph driver card
- Sound working knowledge of GB/EU drivers' hours and the Working Time (Road Transport) Regulations
- No more than 6 penalty points, and no DR, DD, IN or TT endorsements
- Right to work in the UK
- A good standard of spoken and written English
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach
Desirable
- Previous experience on C+E trunking, multi-drop or curtain-sider work
- Experience in pallets, timber, distribution or general haulage
- Moffett / counterbalance forklift or lorry-loader (ALLMI) certification
- Good knowledge of the North West and national road network
Hours & working time
- Full-time, permanent — basic 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with paid overtime available (including Saturdays)
- Average weekly working time is kept within the 48-hour limit under the Working Time (Road Transport) Regulations, measured over the applicable reference period
