ALS Managed Services is recruiting for the role of Weighbridge Operator to cover holidays for our client based in Lillyhall CA14 4JH
Duties and key responsibilities:
- Ensure that all visitors to the site are met and directed to appropriate locations in compliance with recognised health and safety procedures and practices on-site.
- Receive and process all consignments of materials and wastes to the site, in full compliance with legislative requirements and Company procedures.
- Work in partnership with the Site Business Manager and all site based staff, creating and acting as an effective link to maintain positive working relationships between customers and staff, between visitors to site and staff, and act as the face of the Company on the ground.
- Remain familiar with legislative changes, changes in Company practices, and remain familiar with protocols required to continue acting as a public weighing facility.
Ensure that changes in site’s operational policies, practices and procedures are communicated effectively to all customers, contractors and visitors that arrive at the site.
- Provide training and mentoring to operational staff in the processes, practices and procedures that must be adhered to, at the weighbridge.
- Manage day to day customer, public and contractor issues, including complaints and Near Misses, ensuring they are dealt with appropriately, efficiently and as cost effectively as possible, whilst protecting the Company’s reputation.
- To provide hands-on support to the Site Business Manager with regard to the day to day management of health and safety and operational issues.
- Ensure Duty of Care and other relevant documentation is in place
- Ensure that filing systems are maintained in good order and general housekeeping in the weighbridge is to a good standard
- Ensure the efficient use of computer based programs to maintain appropriate performance, for the Company to discharge its contractual obligations.
To ensure the recording of accurate weighbridge data for all customers using the facility.
Experience:
- Familiarity with computer systems.
- Experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
- Date management, working alongside operational teams ensuring performance expectations, service standards and contractual requirements are met.
Demonstrable skills in achieving demanding work requirements and ensuring customer needs are met.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday
Working Hours: 08.00 – 16:30
Pay rate: £12.71 perHalf hour with a disturbed lunch break (paid) – weekly pay
