Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Measuring, cutting, fitting, and sealing various types of glass
- Installing and replacing glazing products in windows, doors, balustrades, and bespoke designs
- Repairs and maintenance of existing glasswork and frames
- Installation of glass splashbacks, tabletops, and tilt-and-turn window systems
- Operating hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Travelling daily to sites across London and Surrey (van & fuel card provided)
- Completing digital job sheets with before/after photos (via WhatsApp)
- Communicating clearly with customers and site teams
- Upholding high standards of presentation, professionalism, and safety
- Occasional out-of-hours call-outs (on a rota basis)
Skills & Abilities Required
Practical Skills:
- Manual dexterity and steady hand skills for precision glass handling
- Physical strength and stamina – lifting and installing glass panels
- Confidence working at heights (scaffolding/ladders)
- Accurate measuring and cutting of glass and related materials
- Knowledge of glass types (tempered, laminated, safety glass, etc.)
- Proficiency in installation and sealing techniques
- Understanding of building codes and health & safety regulations
Personal Skills:
- Problem-solving and adaptability when faced with on-site challenges
- Excellent attention to detail for precise, clean workmanship
- Good communication skills with customers, team members, and contractors
- Professional, punctual, and reliable approach to work
- Safety-conscious mindset with consistent use of PPE
- Customer-focused attitude, polite and approachable at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in glazing, carpentry, window fitting, or similar trade
- Competence using hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new specialist trade skills
- Organised, punctual, and professional always
- Comfortable using WhatsApp for work communication
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience with splashbacks, table tops, or specialist glasswork
Working Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (on-site)
- Daily travel expected (typically leaving home between 7:00–7:30 AM)
- Occasional overtime and weekend work available (optional)
- Weekly CIS pay (1 week in hand)
- Monthly CIS statements and payslips provided
