Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team for weekend shifts. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, primarily using flatbed lorries. This role offers an excellent opportunity for drivers with a background in commercial driving and delivery operations to contribute to our logistics team while working on weekends.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 2 flatbed lorries to deliver goods to various locations across the region.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time, adhering to scheduled routes and deadlines.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Secure loads properly using appropriate equipment to prevent movement during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with the dispatch team regarding delivery status.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including compliance with road safety laws and company policies.
- Assist with loading and unloading when necessary, ensuring the safety of all personnel involved.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with route planning and customer service.
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for secure load handling.
- Prior experience with flatbed transportation is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided if necessary. This position is ideal for drivers seeking weekend work within a professional environment that values safety, efficiency, and reliability.
