Standard 8 has been asked to find a solicitor to join a genuinely specialist Housing Disrepair Breach of Contract team.
If you value a good Work Life balance and a Flexible working schedule then this ones for you.
This is not “housing law” in the vague, tick-box sense. This is about representing social housing tenants and enforcing settlements when agreed repairs have not been carried out.
You’ll be running a claimant caseload at the post-litigation stage, working under Part 7 and Part 8 CPR. That means drafting applications, pursuing orders, managing deadlines and, when needed, using penal notices as a polite legal sledgehammer.
What you’ll need
You’ll need solid litigation experience, ideally at least 1 year, along with a good understanding of CPR and court deadlines. You should be confident making decisions, speaking with clients and opponents, drafting clearly, and solving problems without needing everything escalated.
Housing disrepair experience would be useful, but it is not essential. Good litigation instincts matter more.
What you’ll get back
You’ll receive a strong overall package, including:
- A genuine bonus scheme
- Annual pay reviews
- 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays
- Your birthday off
- 6% employer pension contribution
- Life cover and sick pay
- Gym discount
- Flexible working hours
- Proper training, supervision and career development
This is a role for someone who wants their legal work to lead to real-world outcomes for people in their homes, not just another beautifully drafted email disappearing into the void.
