Role Overview
We’re looking for a skilled Workshop Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimising our fleet of forklifts across our Aldermaston and Thatcham workshops. Your expertise will help ensure our equipment operates at peak performance, supporting our mission of reliability and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts to the highest standards.
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Complete PDI’s on new stock.
- Prepare equipment for hire.
- Complete the off hire and damage process.
- Collaborate with the mobile service team to resolve technical issues.
- Conduct detailed inspections and maintain accurate service records.
- Stay current with industry developments through ongoing training.
- Support the Workshop Manager in managing workflow and priorities.
- Mentor and assist fellow workshop team members when needed.
- Contribute ideas for improving workshop processes and efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a forklift technician or workshop engineer.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.
- Effective communicator and team player.
- Knowledge of forklift safety standards and compliance.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
