Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Band 7 Echocardiographer to join a busy Cardiac Physiology Department within an NHS Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and competent Echocardiographer with advanced technical expertise and a commitment to providing outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform and report comprehensive adult transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE).
- Assess cardiac structure and function in accordance with current professional guidelines.
- Produce accurate, timely, and clinically relevant reports to support patient diagnosis and management.
- Recognise significant pathology and escalate urgent findings appropriately.
- Work collaboratively with Cardiologists, Cardiac Physiologists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and infection prevention.
Essential Requirements
- BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology or equivalent formal specialist training.
- Significant post-graduate training and experience in Echocardiography.
- British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) Level 2 Accreditation in Adult Echocardiography.
- Ability to independently perform and report adult echocardiograms.
- Extensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with advanced echocardiographic techniques.
- Experience supervising junior staff or students.
- Participation in audit, quality improvement, or service development projects.
