Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 1 Lorry Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 1 lorry, including flatbed vehicles, across designated routes
- Ensure all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any maintenance or safety issues
- Secure cargo properly on flatbeds to prevent movement or damage during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with company policies
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures during operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Report any incidents or vehicle malfunctions immediately to management
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly as a delivery driver or in similar roles involving flatbed transport
- Demonstrable knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for large vehicle operation
- Prior experience with flatbed lorry driving is highly desirable
- Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence is essential
- Experience in handling goods securely on flatbeds and understanding weight distribution principles is advantageous
