Location: Doodlebugs Day Nursery, Aberuthven, PH3 1HE
Hours: Full time (38 hours per week) or part time/job share considered
Salary: From £31,616 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

About the Nursery
Doodlebugs Day Nursery is a well-established, welcoming early years setting based in Aberuthven. We provide a nurturing, homely learning environment with excellent indoor and outdoor play spaces that support children to learn, explore and thrive.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Nursery Manager to join our leadership team and play a key role in the effective day-to-day running of the nursery. Applications are welcome from candidates seeking full-time work or a part-time/job-share arrangement.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Nursery Manager to lead our well established nursery in Aberuthven. We would welcome both part time and full time applicants.
The Role
Working alongside the existing manager, you will share responsibility for the leadership and management of the nursery, ensuring high-quality care and learning experiences for all children in line with the Health and Social Care Standards, Realising the Ambition, and Care Inspectorate requirements.
You will lead by example, supporting staff to deliver high standards of practice and fostering a positive, inclusive and motivated team culture.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- A recognised early years qualification
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
- PVG membership (or willingness to apply)
- Proven experience of working within an early years setting
- Knowledge and experience of staff recruitment, retention and development
- A sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance including: Care Inspectorate requirements, SSSC Codes of Practice, Health & Hygiene, First Aid & Fire Safety
- Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Good IT and administrative skills
Key Responsibilities
- Shared responsibility for the day-to-day management of the nursery
- Ensuring all children feel safe, nurtured and engaged, and receive high-quality play and learning experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development
- Leading, supporting and motivating staff, maintaining high standards of professional practice
- Ensuring policies and procedures are implemented consistently and reviewed in line with legislation and best practice
- Maintaining compliance with Care Inspectorate, SSSC and safeguarding requirements
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals
- Keeping up to date with developments in early years practice and legislation
