Job Overview
Due to continued demand, we are looking to recruit an experienced and reliable Production Operative on behalf of our client based on the outskirts of Carlisle.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery, assembling components, and ensuring smooth production processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills within a dynamic industrial environment.
Pending a successful 12 week probationary period, you will then transfer to a permanent contract.
What you’ll be doing:
- As a Production Operative you will be required to operate machinery and produce and maintain high standards of product quality and carry out regular safety checks on machinery within the facility, as agreed with risk assessments and SOP’s
- Following a drawing guide, the job involves thorough checking of the work produced. Therefor Quality Control and an excellent attention to detail is required
- Report all machinery defected issues promptly and work to agreed Health & Safety Regulations and standards, reporting any unsafe working practices
- In addition, you will control and record departmental waste, and ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained
The successful candidate will require:
- Own transport (site not accessible by public transport)
- Experience of working in a factory environment
- To have good awareness of health and safety and a good attitude to work following procedures SOP’s and risk assessments
- Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems
- Self-motivation and self-discipline – able to work efficiently without supervision or guidance
- Ability to learn new equipment and able to support others
- Ability to operate machinery, hand tools, and power tools safely
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Hours of Work & Pay:
- Shift rotation - Monday to Friday 6am-2pm / Monday to Thursday 1pm-11pm
- Dayshift 12.98 p/h, Late shift £15.58 p/h weekly paid
- Salary increases upon completion of training
