Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter/Welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and fabricating metal components and structures across our facilities. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in welding techniques. and the ability to work with various hand and power tools. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication, sheet metal work, and assembly. The majority of work is site based and will involve travelling to different sites and possibilty of staying over in hotels.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair on quarry /asphalt plants and fabrication of metal structures and equipment.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively to complete tasks.
- Fabricate components from sheet metal and other materials according to technical specifications when required
- Assist in assembly processes by fitting and aligning parts accurately.
- Conduct inspections to identify faults or potential issues with machinery or structures.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in welding, and fabrication work.
- Able to work away in different locations
- Have experience working on site and competent to take the lead.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience working with sheet metal and performing assembly tasks.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in welding or mechanical maintenance are desirable but not essential.
