The role
The Laundry Assistant is responsible for providing a high standard of laundry services, ensuring that all items are cleaned, pressed, and stored appropriately. This role involves operating laundry equipment, sorting and folding laundry, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron laundry items according to established procedures.
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including washers and dryers.
- Ensure that all laundry items are cleaned to the highest standards and returned in a timely manner.
- Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organised laundry area, including cleaning machines and work surfaces.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Where required, assist with inventory management, including ordering and stocking laundry supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service and address any laundry-related inquiries or concerns.
Skills and Experience
· Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role is preferred.
· Ability to operate laundry equipment and perform physical tasks, including lifting and carrying laundry loads.
· Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently.
· Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Other Considerations:
This role is working 40 hours a week, over 5 days, including weekends.
Working Conditions: The role involves standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and laundry equipment.
Please note: This role requires a fixed working pattern of more than 20 hours per week. Due to legal working hour restrictions, we are unable to consider applicants who are not permitted to work these hours under UK immigration rules.
