Priory Lichfield Road is looking to recruit a Ward Clerk to join the team. This is a part-time role of 22.5 hours a week, over 3 days from Monday to Friday.
Based in Walsall, West Midlands, Priory Lichfield Road is a rehabilitation service offering both level 1 and 2 care, all set within a modern, purpose-built centre. It is specifically designed to support both males and females who have severe, complex and enduring mental health needs, which might include treatment-resistant conditions.
You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
- Prepare admission packs
- Record patient admissions and discharges on the relevant IT systems
- Arrange sick certificates for patients on admission and throughout their stay as required
- Obtain patient records from other hospitals as required
- Ensure that all communication is within the boundaries of patient confidentiality, and seek guidance when unsure

The ideal candidate will possess an excellent standard of written and spoken English and demonstrate strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft applications. They will have a customer-focused approach, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively within a busy environment. Candidates should be flexible, adaptable, and have a strong team-working ethic, while maintaining professional boundaries at all times. Previous experience in an administrative role is desirable, ideally within a similar setting, although this is not essential. Experience of liaising and working with external organisations would also be advantageous.
