Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Kitchen Fitter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining kitchen units and fittings in residential and commercial properties. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in carpentry, joinery, and general construction work to utilise their expertise in a dynamic environment. Applicants should possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install kitchen units, cabinets, worktops, and appliances with precision
- Use hand tools such as saws, drills, screwdrivers, and chisels to carry out fabrication and assembly tasks
- Operate power tools safely to facilitate accurate fitting and adjustments
- Conduct joinery tasks including fitting hinges, handles, and other fittings to ensure seamless installation
- Carry out plumbing connections for sinks and appliances where necessary
- Perform minor masonry or roofing tasks related to kitchen fitting projects
- Assist with construction painting or finishing work to achieve a professional appearance
- Undertake heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely during installation processes
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
- Maintain organised work areas and ensure tools are properly stored after use
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, or joinery within the construction industry
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in kitchen fitting
- Knowledge of plumbing systems relevant to kitchen installations
- Ability to undertake masonry or roofing tasks is advantageous but not essential
- Experience with electrical components related to kitchen appliances is desirable
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting and working at heights or on ladders as required
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications accurately
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or joinery are preferred but not mandatory
