Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Procurement Transformation Manager to lead the optimisation and modernisation of our procurement processes on a FTC basis with the possibility of going perm. The successful candidate will be responsible for stabilising, professionalising and transforming the Group’s Procurement function, addressing current operational inefficiencies and implementing robust processes, systems, and performance frameworks.
This is a delivery-focused role with a clear mandate to drive measurable improvement across procurement operations
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the transformation of procurement processes by reviewing, mapping and redesigning end-to-end procurement workflows to improve efficiency, consistency and control.
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies across procurement activities, including approval processes, order management and delivery coordination.
- Implement robust controls to improve procurement accuracy, compliance and right-first-time ordering.
- Drive the optimisation of the Xpedeon procurement system, enhancing system utilisation, approval workflows, catalogue management and pricing structures.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of procurement data across Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs) and Goods Received Notes (GRNs), ensuring alignment with Finance requirements.
- Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive procurement KPI framework, providing regular performance reporting and insights to the Head of Finance.
- Monitor and report on key operational, financial and compliance metrics, including procurement cycle times, supplier performance, cost savings, spend visibility and data accuracy.
- Lead supplier rationalisation initiatives, strengthening the supplier base and increasing local sourcing opportunities where appropriate.
- Establish and manage a structured supplier performance management programme, including the implementation and governance of framework agreements.
- Build strong relationships across Procurement, Operations, Site Teams, Commercial, Finance and Accounts Payable to improve collaboration and ensure effective procurement delivery.
- Act as the primary escalation point for procurement-related issues, driving timely resolution and continuous improvement.
- Review the procurement team structure, roles and responsibilities, recommending improvements to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
- Standardise procurement processes and ways of working across the team to ensure consistency and best practice.
- Foster a culture of accountability, proactive problem-solving, responsiveness and customer-focused service.
- Coach and develop team members, enhancing capability in procurement systems, processes and industry best practice.
- Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement performance, operational efficiency and value for money.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Proven experience leading procurement transformation
- Strong construction / project-based procurement experience
- ERP/process improvement experience
- Ability to diagnose and fix operational inefficiencies
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
Desirable
- CIPS qualified
- Experience in multi-company or group environments

This job specification establishes a Procurement Transformation Lead who elevates the function from a transactional service to a strategic driver of efficiency, savings, and improved performance across the entire Group, while directly addressing the operational delays and process challenges currently being experienced. It is expected that the successful candidate will either set the function up for a Procurement Manager to come in on a permanent basis, or may transition in to the Procurement Manager role on a permanent basis themselves.
