Maintenance Engineer looking for more than breakdowns?
Do you want to be involved in automation projects, machinery upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives whilst working on a highly automated manufacturing site?
We are recruiting a Maintenance & Projects Engineer for a market-leading manufacturer based in Leeds. Following significant investment in new machinery and automation technology, the business is looking to strengthen its engineering team with an engineer who enjoys both hands-on maintenance and project work.
The Role
As a Maintenance & Projects Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across automated production equipment.

Reactive electrical and mechanical fault finding.
-
Supporting machinery upgrades and automation projects.
-
Working alongside the Controls Engineer on system modifications and improvements.
-
Assisting with PLC, drive, and HMI upgrades.
-
ABB Robot Programming
-
Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
-
Supporting the introduction of new machinery and equipment.
Equipment & Technology
You will gain exposure to:

Siemens PLCs

ABB Robots
-
Variable Speed Drives
-
HMI Systems
-
Automated production machinery
-
Conveyors, sensors, motors and control systems
Candidate Requirements
To be considered, you must have:

NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification.

Experience working within an automated manufacturing, production or processing environment.

Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
-
A proactive and positive approach to engineering.
Any experience with the following would be highly advantageous:

PLC programming or software modifications.

Robot programming.
-
Automation projects.
-
Machinery upgrades or installations.
-
Continuous improvement activities.
