At Cando Personnel, we supply skilled and reliable workforce solutions across fresh produce, food production, and warehouse operations. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Team Leader to support high-volume fresh produce environments.
Overview
The Warehouse Team Leader will be responsible for supervising daily operations on-site, ensuring productivity targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and team performance within a fast-paced fresh produce setting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of warehouse operatives in a fresh produce environment
- Ensure daily targets and KPIs are met (packing, picking, dispatch)
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with food safety standards
- Manage staff attendance, timekeeping, and rota adherence
- Conduct team briefings and allocate tasks effectively
- Ensure all staff follow health & safety and hygiene procedures
- Support training and onboarding of new staff
- Work closely with management and agency partners to maintain staffing levels
- Handle basic performance issues and escalate where required
- Maintain accurate records (production, attendance, and shift reports)
Key Requirements
- Previous experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in a warehouse or food production environment
- Experience working with fresh produce (highly desirable)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Good understanding of health & safety and food hygiene standards
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends if required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From £14.00 per hour
