An ambitious and high-performing secondary academy in Cheshunt is seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of IT & Business to lead its successful department from September 2026. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a talented teacher with the vision, drive, and subject expertise to further develop a dynamic and forward-thinking curriculum across both Business and Computing.

The IT & Business department plays an important role within the school curriculum, delivering engaging and industry-relevant learning experiences that equip students with valuable analytical, technological, and entrepreneurial skills. Students study a range of subjects across Key Stages 3–5, with strong uptake and positive outcomes at GCSE and Post-16 level.
As Head of Department, you will lead the strategic development of IT and Business across the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement. You will work closely with senior leaders and departmental colleagues to continue building an innovative curriculum that inspires students and supports excellent outcomes.

Head of IT & Business - Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the IT & Business department across Key Stages 3–5.
- Driving high-quality teaching and learning within both curriculum areas.
- Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment.
- Supporting, coaching, and developing departmental staff.
- Overseeing curriculum planning and ensuring schemes of work remain ambitious and engaging.
- Promoting enrichment opportunities linked to Business, enterprise, and digital learning.
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and student engagement.
Head of IT & Business - The successful candidate will:
- Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have strong subject knowledge across IT/Computing and Business Studies.
- Demonstrate successful teaching experience with evidence of strong pupil outcomes.
- Possess leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and support colleagues.
- Be passionate about developing innovative and engaging learning experiences.
- Have excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Be committed to contributing positively to the wider school community.
