As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN

Supporting children with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, sensory needs, and learning difficulties

Helping pupils engage with lessons and classroom activities

Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation

Encouraging independence, confidence, and communication skills

Assisting the class teacher with adapted resources and learning tasks

Helping pupils during transitions, playtimes, and structured activities

Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and wider school staff
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who:

Must have experience working with SEN children

Must have a Child and Adult DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one

Is patient, compassionate, and resilient

Can build trusting relationships with children who may need additional reassurance and structure

Has strong communication skills and a positive attitude
