HGV Class 2 Driver/ Gully Tanker Operator

Core Hours: 05:30am – 3:30pm (flexibility required depending on projects)
We are currently recruiting for a Gully Tanker Operator to join a busy and expanding outdoor maintenance team based in Lisburn.

About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Gully Driver carrying out drain cleaning, sewer maintenance, and storm drain operations across various sites.
This is a physically demanding, hands-on role involving outdoor work in all weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate vacuum hose and jetting equipment to clear roadside drains and gullies
- Assist with sewer and storm drain cleaning operations
- Lift and remove drain covers safely as part of daily duties
- Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks
- Maintain accurate records of work completed
- Follow all company health & safety procedures and traffic management requirements
- Communicate professionally with customers, members of the public, and team members
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
Working Hours & Overtime
- Standard working week: 39 hours
- Most employees currently work between 45–50 hours per week
- Overtime paid at time and a half
- Core hours are between 05:30am – 3:30pm, however flexibility is required depending on workload and projects
Essential Criteria
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and reliability
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling duties
- Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative
- Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
Desirable Criteria
- Experience operating commercial vehicles such as Jetvac or tanker vehicles
- CSR Card
- Experience in traffic management procedures
- Experience with high-pressure water jetting
- Manual handling, first aid, or banksman/reversing assistant training
