Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team At Leicester House Glynneath. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the café operates smoothly during busy periods. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks
- Assist customers with menu selections and provide friendly, attentive service
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, including equipment and utensils
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards at all times
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during shifts
- Manage time effectively to serve customers promptly during peak hours
- Support food preparation tasks where necessary, such as assembling snacks or light meals
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene
- Ability to serve customers efficiently with a friendly attitude
- Basic maths skills for handling cash and processing payments accurately
- Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work during busy periods, including weekends if required
