Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and professional HGV Driver to join our transport team, responsible for the safe and timely delivery of live chicks and eggs to farms and processing facilities.
This is a key role within our operation, requiring a strong commitment to animal welfare, biosecurity, quality, and safety. Every delivery plays a vital part in maintaining the high standards our customers and industry expect.
Responsibilities
- Carry out full vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift, ensuring compliance with all HGV regulations
- Deliver live chicks and eggs safely and efficiently, completing multi‑drop deliveries to both farm and commercial sites
- Manoeuvre vehicles into loading and unloading areas, securing loads correctly and assisting with yard activities where required (including handball or pump truck use)
- Maintain exceptional hygiene and biosecurity standards, including general cleaning and tidiness across internal and external hatchery areas
- Adhere strictly to bird welfare codes of practice, health and safety standards, and company procedures
- Support wider hatchery operations as required to ensure smooth daily running
Skills & Experience
- Valid Category C&E licence
- Current Driver CPC and tachograph card
- Previous experience in an HGV driving role
- Experience transporting livestock is desirable but not essential
- Flexible, hardworking, and dependable
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team‑focused attitude
- Willingness to work shifts as required
